Sydney's 2 Month Update

Sydney bean you have grown so much this month! You have gone from the 18% to the 50% in weight! You have grown out of all of your newborn clothes and diapers, but you still have your hair and it is even growing in lighter (I am crossing my fingers that you do not lose it like everyone says you will)! Over the past 2 weeks, you have become so alert! You used to spend most of the day snoozing but now you just want to play! You love to dance, fly around the room, be held up on your toes, do tummy time, and read books! This month, we have gone on picnics, to the farm, to the zoo, and played in the snow. In the past week, you have begun to love bouncing on your feet and now always wants to stand and dance. My favorite thing is to hear Daddy talk to you when you two are alone - he loves you so so much!

You haven't mastered the social smile yet, but you are working really hard on it! The only fool proof method to get you to smile and laugh is for Mommy and Daddy to make lots of funny noises. You love it and it absolutely melts my heart.

At night, you sleep a 5 hour stretch but then wake up every 3 hours to feed. We are going to start swaddling you again to see if that helps you sleep through the night. You still sleep in your "Rock and Play"; we were going to move you to your crib, but we still think you are too tiny for it. One day you will sleep in your crib :).

We are so lucky that you are such a great little girl and are rarely fussy; you only cry during diapers changes and when you are hungry. When I was pregnant, I read that you could differentiate between cries - I never believed it! But you really can, you just know what your little one needs.

You had her first bottle last week and did not like it. Since then we have given you the bottle about 4 more times and are working really hard to get it down. We need to start giving you the bottle to prepare for daycare! You nurse about every 2 hours during the day.. but sometimes more when it is just Mommy & Sydney time.

The best moment was when you first smiled! The worst moment was when you got your first shots. You just weren't yourself after - you were so sad and tired.

I love you my little Sydney bean! I can't wait to see what the next month will bring!
